Agroinform.com is leading agriculture classifieds in Hungary. They used to have a „regular” ad posting process, where users had to choose from a category list. Agroinform needed to change the process to automatic category recommendation during the post ads process.

They desired to change the process of ad posting to improve user experience through reducing the number of fields and place the ad in a right category. Slamby helped Agroinform to automatically categorize the incoming ads. During the ad posting process, when users fill the ad’s title and description field, Slamby automatically shows the top three best categories among the ~440 categories, where the ad can perfectly fit.

Case Study: Automatic Ad Category Recommendation, using Slamby

Jogogas.hu is the market leading Classified Ad Site in Hungary. They used to have a „regular” ad posting process, where users had to choose from a category list. They wanted to change this procedure and to offer their users the best category automatically, to which they can post their ads.

They wanted the change in order to accelerate the process of ad posting, and to improve user experience by reducing the number of the fields users have to fill in when they wish to post their merchandise for sale on Jofogas.hu.

Schibsted + Slamby

Slamby helped Jofogas.hu with Slamby Classifier to automatically categorize the incoming products. During the ad posting process, when the user typed in the ad’s title and description, Slamby Classifier immediately and automatically shows the right category from the ~365 categories, where the ad can perfectly fit.

Case Study: Automatic Ad Re-Categorization using Slamby

Quoka is one of Germany’s largest Classified Ad Sites considering the number of its ads and visitors. The site has almost 6 million ads and on average 10 million site visits per month and 90 million page views per month.

Visitors love the site, and they have been giving a lot of feedback. The closer inspection of user feedback and the study of customer behaviour on Quoka revealed that the category tree is in need of some restructuring. Quoka decided that adds need to be re-categorized into a few categories.

The standard method for re-categorization is manual restructuring, but for example working with 4 moderators the process could have taken 3 weeks for Quoka, not to mention that it would have cost a serious amount of money.

Quoka decided to give Slamby a try, and started to use Slamby for re-categorization and for duplicate ad search. Slamby was able to re-categorize the ads from the old categories to the new ones, and find duplicate ads automatically.
